NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
YOUNG ADULT BOOK FESTIVAL TO KICK-OFF SUMMER READING SEASON
A Book Barn will host local authors and celebrate the YA genre
Clovis, Calif.–With the popularity of Young Adult fiction soaring higher every day and summer vacation knocking at the door, the reading season is in full swing. To celebrate, A Book Barn is partnering with four local authors to host a Young Adult Fiction Book Festival & Signing on Saturday, June 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The festival will provide families and aspiring writers with the unique opportunity to interact with published local authors while enjoying a friendly and informal atmosphere, and include authors Steven Hammond, L. Marie Horton, Dixie Salazar, and Kasie West.
The YA classification of literature has exploded in popularity over the past several years, due in part to its ease of readability and its relatability to the reader, and envelops a wide variety of genres, with bestsellers covering everything from post-apocalyptic or dystopian futures to paranormal romance, steampunk, high fantasy, thrillers, and realistic fiction. For those of you fighting to catch up or wondering where to start, we’ve compiled a festival of four local authors whose own contributions to the field are both original and well worth a read.
Steven Hammond’s The Warlord, The Warrior, The War takes place during The War of the Species, and is the latest release in his best-selling Rise of the Penguins Saga. Hammond will be joined by L. Marie Horton and her supernatural suspense novel, The Bellum Prophecy (Volume 1 of the forthcoming The Vella Series).
Also present will be well-known local artist and poet Dixie Salazar with Carmen & Chia Mix Magic, her just-released debut novel in the YA genre. Kasie West – HarperTeen author – will feature her latest, Split Second, the story of a girl with the power to see her potential futures, the highly anticipated sequel to Pivot Point.
The event will be free and open to the public and all ages are welcome to attend. For any questions or comments, contact A Book Barn at 559-297-9052 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
